It depicts an owl in full flight with a sunrise in the background and silhouetted trees. This painting comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from the artist. NOTE: This picture is presently not matted and framed. When you order it, the artist will have it professionally framed with a double matting and glare-resistant glass. It takes the frame shop 2-3 weeks to frame a painting. Please message the seller with your preference of black, gray, light wood, or dark wood frame.

Artist Note

Ken Johnson is an award-winning heritage feather painting artist. He exclusively paints pictures on real feathers. His fine art has been shown in galleries all along the Gulf Coast of the United States. Being of Native American heritage, the owl holds tremendous significance to the culture of the artist. The owl represents leadership and change. An owl in flight is an omen of change actively moving. The scene shows sunrise as it is the time when the artist's ancestors would ritualistically bathe and sing songs of worship and gratitude to the Creator for the dawning of a brand new day. It is intended to instill hope and a whisp of uncertainty as the sky unmistakably depicts an American flag.
