This painting depicts the historic beach ball monument at Pensacola Beach, Florida. This structure was built in 1964 to serve as a water tank for the beach community. For aesthetics, the structure was fashioned and painted in the design of a beach ball. In 2005, it was retired from active service as a water tank. Due to its popularity and historical significance, the monument was later sold to the Santa Rosa Island Authority, for the sum of $1.
